Ubisoft Education

The future can’t be predicted. But skills can be mastered.

Ubisoft Education strives to prepare the next generation for life and work in the digital age and all the challenges that come with it.

How? By expanding access to STEM education and opportunities for all youngsters—without exception. Ubisoft Education teamed up with the best education partners to provide Quebec’s youth with the following technical and scientific knowledge and skills of the future:

Cooperation

Creativity

Critical thinking

Problem solving

Computational thinking

Our program is for students of all ages

Programming activities

Learning to code improves logic and builds mathematical skills. Our partners are dedicated to cultivating young scientific minds and instilling a love of science and technology in youth from elementary school right through to university.

Science exhibition

The Science Centre’s permanent exhibition Explore has highly interactive spaces where kids can delve into the science behind motion, air, light, water, geometry, and matter—they can even try coding.

Tech podcast

CTRL+F is a podcast series that talks about science and technology. The program consists of six short episodes for kids between the ages of 8 and 12 and their parents. Listen to the podcasts. (In French only)

Mentoring

Having basic STEM skills can make it easier for students to get their dream job, no matter what they want to do. Ubisoft Education supports initiatives that give students a chance to draw on our team’s expertise whether they are contemplating their career path or working on a systems integration project in IT.

Scientific publications

The monthly magazines (Les Explorateurs, Les Débrouillards, and Curium) are leading authorities on science content for young readers in Quebec. This year, Ubisoft Education has given free magazine subscriptions to 300 schools (275 elementary and 25 secondary schools) in Quebec and is offering five teachers the chance to visit our Montreal studio. Ubisoft Game Lab Competition

In this competition, students are given 10 weeks to create a playable video game prototype according to a theme and in accordance with the rules and guidelines. Each team works with two Ubisoft mentors from the Montreal, Quebec City, or Saguenay studios. Projects are judged by a jury of Ubisoft professionals, and $22,000 in grants go to the competition winners. At least 10 participants receive internships or jobs with Ubisoft. Learn more.

University scholarships

Ubisoft’s scholarship program provides financial support to high-calibre students who are studying in STEM-related fields at eight Quebec universities. Each year, Ubisoft offers over $70,000 in scholarships, half of which is reserved for female students.

Job fairs

Every year, Ubisoft Montréal employees travel to Quebec universities to discuss their academic and professional backgrounds, not to mention their career in IT, with students. These events are a great opportunity for students to learn about the technologies used at Ubisoft and find internships or permanent jobs in computer science.

Paid internships

The studio offers numerous paid internships within its production teams all year long. Internships really help students get their careers off the ground by giving them a chance to hone their skills and build a network in the largest video game studio in the world.

Partnerships with student clubs

Always looking to recruit top talents, Ubisoft works closely with students, professors, and student clubs, such as Women in Engineering, to ensure that students who want STEM careers have access to information and advice. Learn more.
