Première AUDACE Ubisoft-FRQ Announces First Recipient

October 29, 2026 –

Ubisoft and the Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ) are pleased to announce Laura Silva as the inaugural recipient of the Première AUDACE Ubisoft-FRQ program. An Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Université Laval, she has been selected for her project, Designing a Museum of Philosophy: A Research-Creation Initiative for Critical Thinking and Democratic Resilience.

The project will develop interactive museum installations designed to strengthen critical thinking, increase awareness of cognitive biases, and help combat misinformation by fostering dialogue and encouraging a diversity of perspectives.

Première AUDACE Ubisoft-FRQ

This program aims to provide an initial boost to early-career researchers with unconventional career paths and bold ideas by reducing barriers often encountered at the beginning of a research career.

Through funding of $500,000 over five years, Première AUDACE Ubisoft-FRQ seeks to encourage innovation and interdisciplinary research while supporting ambitious projects that address major societal challenges.

This support enables emerging researchers to pursue transformative research on topics of their own choosing.

I am delighted to highlight this grant, which will offer people an opportunity to experience philosophy in unexpected ways. This is the first award under the program, and more will follow thanks to our partnership with Ubisoft. There are still many avenues to explore, and the possibilities for bold research are vast. I hope the research community will answer the call and take part in the future competitions we launch.”

Jérôme Dupras
Chief Scientist of Québec and President and CEO, Fonds de recherche du Québec

At Ubisoft, we believe innovation extends far beyond technology. It is rooted in the ability to think differently, bring disciplines together, and push the boundaries of ideas. Just as we support emerging talent in the video game industry and the arts, we want to empower the next generation of researchers by giving them the opportunity to explore freely and experiment with new approaches. This initiative is part of Ubisoft’s broader commitment to invest $64 million by 2030 in support of education, entrepreneurship, and research in Québec.”

Executive Director, Ubisoft La Forge
