Just over a month ago, Yannis announced the creation of Ubisoft LUMEN, a financial-support programme for Quebec start-ups in association with White Star Capital (WSC). We can now announce that, this morning, the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, the Fonds de solidarité FTQ, Investissement Québec (IQ) and the Business Development Bank of Canada confirmed their respective investments in this new fund.
Ubisoft LUMEN rounds up the partnerships, collaborations and financial support initiatives offered by Ubisoft Montréal, Ubisoft Québec and Ubisoft Saguenay to more than 350 local techno-creative businesses. Alongside IQ and Fonds de solidarité FTQ, Ubisoft’s association will specifically focus on the part of the fund that will support local enterprises in their growth and development abroad.
“It’s the first time in Ubisoft’s history that we invest in a venture capital fund, and we’re doing that in Quebec,” said Francis Baillet, Corporate Affairs VP. “That’s a testament to our deep-rooted attachment to our home, to the talent that exists in Quebec and to the confidence we have in our techno-creative ecosystem.”
