As a team lead within the technology group of Ubi Montreal, you are the guide of a team of talented and inspired programmers, responsible for the development of technologies essential to the creation of the games long awaited by Ubisoft fans. Your team successfully achieves its ambitions thanks to your technological know-how, your leadership and your ability to make informed decisions when facing challenges. You are proud and passionate about the systems you create together. 

Your global vision and your understanding of the role of each member of your team allow you to coordinate the work and multiply the result of each person's efforts. What you'll do



A typical day is to bring your team together to discuss the progress of the assigned tasks. You review notable bugs and see how best to approach them. You communicate regularly with heads of other disciplines to plan, assess risks and deliver on time. You are sometimes called upon to actively participate in the programming process with your team. 

You keep your project manager up-to-date on the evolution of your mandates and you meet other managers, both from your project and from others, to discuss ways to improve processes and share technologies. You are also responsible for supporting each member of your team in improving their technical and interpersonal skills. You have their well-being at heart and you actively participate in their development within the organization.

Qualifications


What you bring
 

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering 
  • A minimum of 8 years of software development experience 
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in managing a team of programmers (task distribution, performance evaluation, etc.) 
  • A good command of different programming languages ​​(C ++, C #, SQL, WPF and others) 
  • Excellent communication and strategic leadership skills 
  • The ability to stay calm in difficult situations (you know there is always a solution)
  • The ability to put yourself in the shoes of other trades and users of your systems
  • Strong interest in the video game production process
