Every year, Ubisoft developers from all over the world meet at our studio in Montreal for the company’s biggest knowledge-sharing event, called the Ubisoft Developers Conference.
For four days, UDC opens its doors to Ubisoft’s production teams, allowing them to share their latest breakthroughs, tech innovations, best practices, to highlight the challenges that are most relevant to them and to spark brand new ideas.
This year marks the 8th anniversary of the conference. Since its beginning, UDC has played a critical part in the development of Ubisoft. As our industry is rapidly changing, it’s our opportunity to anticipate the next evolutions that will make the difference. UDC has also become a key milestone for all internal production teams. It plays a crucial role in keeping innovation flowing between studios and teams, which is what helps these teams create even more immersive experiences. A collaborative mindset is a core ingredient in the development of AAA games at Ubisoft.
With a really varied program including conferences, round tables and booths, key tech topics for our production are addressed each year, from AI, to Animation, Design, Online, and VR. Most of the content is also broadcasted live to all the studios around the world. Of course, a few happy hours and party also give the opportunity to engage in some networking and to connect on a more personal level.
UDC is a starting point, the place for discussions to emerge, before spreading and growing among other teams and locations.
